Meanwhile, the snow was so bad that this gnome appeared. Maya named him Ice Cold.
"I’m sorry about yesterday honey. Let’s make this the best birthday ever."
Thus, Trang and Maya spent the whole day outside making snowmen and throwing snowballs at eachother.
Birthday time!
"Awww yea!"
Trang also got Maya a guitar and a keyboard piano
Of course, this lovely day didn’t change the fact that Maya was kinda evil.
Maya had plans. She was going to rule the criminal underground one day. So what better way to start than prank the school.
"Success"
…and get into a fight with this old man.
"What are you looking at?"
She won the fight…
but lost the war.
Trang also became an adult.

It’s prom time and Maya’s going stag.
"Maybe I’ll find a boyfriend there…"
Sadly no boyfriend, but she did win prom queen!
Trang was invited to a painter’s conference and had to leave for a couple days.
"I hope Maya will be alright on her own."
Maya took the first opportunity to throw a party.
"Hey guys, tell everyone I’m throwing a party tonight!"
Unfortunately, only Nervous Spector-Finley showed up.
"Well this is awkward"
They had a fun time nonetheless
(It was seriously the party of the year. Who knew.)
Maya totally wasn’t busted but got in trouble for the wrecked house.
"This house is a mess Maya!"
"It’s just a little mess. What’s the big deal? I’ll clean it."
"You better if you want to leave this house this weekend."
"It was totally worth it"
Cleaning didn’t go so well.
Maya wanted to go out. She didn’t care what her mother said.
"What a perfect time of night to sneak into a bar"
"Success"
"Oh shit! The cops!"
She didn’t make it far.
"You better come with us young lady"
”@#$%^&*”
"I can’t believe you snuck out! The police had to bring you home! You are grounded!"
"Whatever mom! You can’t stop me!"
"Where in the world has this behaviour come from Maya?"
"Nowhere. It’s always been there. You just never noticed."
"Where did I go wrong?"
It didn’t help matters that Binky died the next day.
"I’ll miss you little buddy"
Maya skipped school to find a new friend but had to take a nap break.
Meanwhile, Trang found out that Bastille had died. She couldn’t help feel a little sad.
When Maya came home, Trang had to tell her the news.
Maya, despite her Bastille’s absences, was upset
"It’ll be alright Maya"
"I’m sorry I yelled at you"
"It’s ok"
The house was calm for now but Trang wondered how long it would last. As a peace offering, she bought Maya a new goldfish.
..and had a stern talk with her.
"Now Maya, I won’t stand any more of this sneaking out. I worry about you enough as it is and you’re still grounded."

ReplyDeleteHow sad that Bastille died before he and Maya could meet. I wonder if it might have influenced her in a positive way if they had had a relationship, but we'll never know now.
I've always wondered what would become of Bastille if Maya met him. From the traits I remember him having, he was pretty good guy. Oh well.
