Baby Steps - Darius & Maia 1.2

 

The couple had an unsatisfying breakfast together before Darius went off to work

Maia had a good feeling about this pregnancy.

She wasn't as tired or run down as she was with her last

Maia continued to paint and was getting noticed by the art community

Summer had since had her baby and came by to visit.

Maia had painted a portrait of her and decided to give it to her as a gift

Summer loved it

The two spend the visit playing fooseball

The couple went on a date at the local café

Things got spicy

Maia had developed a bougie opinion of food and desired to make better meals

"How is it?"

"Hmmm, better"

Darius may have or may not have electrocuted himself

"Ugh, this kitchen is gross"

But then Maia tried to burn their house down

AND THUS THE PREGNANT WOMAN SAVES THE DAY

Darius literally couldn't care

"Everything ok, honey?"

"...yes"

However, Maia was going to have to paint all the things to replace the stove

She also thought she should post about the incident to simstagram

Eventually, they could afford that new stove

"Darius?"

"Yes?"

"Are you...smoking?"

"...maybe"

With the loss of their first child, Darius made sure to ask how Maia was doing

Suddenly, the couple was celebrating their anniversary

They had a lot to celebrate.

Maia's pregnancy had surpassed her last one and was considered in the 'safe zone'

They did a lot of making out

BUT THEN ANTONIO VISITED AND TRIED TO BURN THE HOUSE DOWN

Thankfully, the couple used teamwork to defeat the fire

This pregnancy made Maia pretty randy

With all the fun they were having, Maia needed a little nap

She would later have her water break while painting

Maia was unimpressed

She was really annoyed that there was now a puddle of gross on the floor

They arrived at the hospital and Darius was not chill

Maia was unimpressed

She literally skipped the line to check in

"Evening, Mrs. Goodman. We'll get you checked in right away"

Maia was a little concerned about this contraption they put her in

So was Darius

WISELY SO TOO

Maia died for a a few seconds before her heart got put back where it belonged

Finally, a beautiful baby boy was born

They named him Aron

He was pretty traumatized from the whole experience

Maia was exhausted and couldn't wait to got to bed

But not before feeding her hungry son

Baby Steps - Darius & Maia 1.1

 I wanted to do a chill 100 baby thing so I made this. 

Darius and Maia Goodman were a part of the Baby Steps Foundation, an organization that was dedicated to ensuring the survival of all simdom through reproduction. The two were married and sent off on their mission

The foundation provided them with this home in Willow Creek.

Despite being an arranged marriage, the couple had great chemistry

Darius got a job as an engineer, which is what he did at BSF

The neighbours arrived and Maia invited them inside

Darius ignored them for the most part

Maia entertained their new neighbours

She hated every second of it

After they left, Maia got a head start on this parenting thing

The couple liked to spend time together and Maia would often eat with Darius in the office

Maia knew if she was going to be a good mother, she'd need to at least learn how to cook a few meals

"This...isn't as hard as I thought"

Darius liked to game and used to do that on his off days at the foundation

"I've made you lunch for your big day tomorrow"

"Thanks, honey"

They christened their new home

Maia's first attempt at breakfast didn't actually go that well

With Darius off at work, Maia got to painting

When he returned, Darius worked on his robotics skill

Later, he spent time with Maia with a game of fooseball

Soon, Maia had great news!

"Darius? Can I bother you for a second?"

"Sure, hun. What's up?"

"I'm pregnant!"

"That's great! I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon"

"I guess we're just really fertile"

"You look lovely this morning"

"What? No I don't but thanks"

Maia was feeling a little run down from her pregnancy and decided a bath would do wonders

"Homemade bootees? I can do that!"

Maia read on the parenting forums that a lot of mothers knitted. 

She thought she'd give it a try

Darius was concerned about Maia. She was tired all the time and was worried if this was normal

Maia assured him that she was fine.

"I'm just a little tired. I have a gynecologist appointment soon and I'm sure everything will be fine"

Darius took it upon himself to take a citrus bath to relax

Maia headed off to her appointment

While she was gone, a freak lightening bolt destroyed their BBQ!

They could afford another but it wasn't as fancy

"Ahh! Stupid wind..."

Summer came over and was having a crisis.

She was having a baby with Don Lothario after all

However, tragedy soon struck.

Maia had a 3rd trimester miscarriage

(So I added a miscarriage mod for spice. I was not expecting the first pregnancy to I played to experience it since I had it set on low. Whoops)

The loss of their unborn child laid heavily on Darius

Maia felt guilty. 

She was supposed to have children and yet this one died

Summer came over to visit, which did more harm than good really

Eventually, they tried again

Maia was sure this one would result in a positive result

She was correct!

They were happy but Darius was reserved.

He hoped it would turn out ok this time

Maia didn't want to forget the baby that never was.

She hung the ultrasound up in their bedroom so that they could remember their daughter.

Thus, the couple took a selfie for the living room
