Parenting 101 - Makayla 1.5

Today was a great day. It was Nicholas' birthday and Makayla would make it a great one.

While waiting for Nicholas to come home from school, Makayla went to the park and did some fishing.

Makayla decided on a blue confetti cake.
"I hope it turns out alright"

Happy Birthday Nicholas!

"Make a wish, honey!"

Nicholas, much to Makayla's dismay, looked just like his father.

They took a trip to the park and Nicholas spotted a girl from school.
"Kathleen! Hey!"
"Oh hi Nicholas"

Some hotdogs sounded really good and Nicholas was starving.

Texting fools.

Look what Makyala found when she was fishing!

So Makayla got really sad from conversing with an evil sim and can, apparently, water plants with her tears.
I died.

Nicholas isn't about those early mornings anymore.

If it's not one thing, it's another.

Family time

"Nic, you could use a chair. I don;t want fries all over the floor"
"Haha. Sorry Mom"

Nicholas was pretty popular at school. He was smart and easy on the eyes.

Makayla's kitchen disasters were getting more sparse as time went on.

Nicholas invited Kathleen over. She seemed a bit tense when she showed up and he made it his mission to cheer her up.

Kathleen liked Nicholas. He was a nice guy and smart too!

Quick! For Simbook!

Even the most expensive computers have problems.

Nicholas and Kathleen decided to have a fun match.
"You're going down, Essence"
"You sure about that?"

Kathleen is a bit of a sore loser.

She left in a huff.

'Maybe I should of let her win...'

Makayla's cowplant was growing so well. She was so proud.

Nicholas challenged his mother to another match.

"I guess you're just too good for me now"
"Don't feel bad , Mom. You did pretty well"

"So...who was that girl who came by earlier?"
"Kathleen's just a friend, Mom"
"Whatever you say, dear"

The cowplant, who I have named Judith, finally blossomed.
Makayla loved her like a second child.

Parenting 101 - Makayla 1.4

Makayla wasn't too pleased about being 40.

Makeover time~ Mom edition.

Good job Nicholas.

Nicholas masted his mental skill and seems to believe he has telepathy.

Professor E is that you?

Maybe not but he sure is focused.

"Happy Birthday Mom!"
"Uhhh...thankyou sweetie."

Makayla's up to her old tricks.

Even with her cheating, Makayla didn't win this one.

And with that Nicholas completed the mental aspiration! Hooray!

We've moved on to the motor aspiration and got right to typing.

The house had gotten awful quiet ever since Nicholas started spending his days at the park. Makayla got a lot of writing done.

Nicholas loved the park! He had a lot of fun with the local kids.

Makayla really wished Nicholas would come home on time once in a while.

"Curfew is at 8. Don't miss it next time, ok?"
"Ok mom"

Well crap.

While Nicholas was memorized by the fire, Makayla came to the rescue.

Nicholas finally came out of his trance and booked it.

Well...at least the insurance came through.

Nicholas had never been so afraid in his life.

"It's ok now, Nicholas. You can go to sleep now"
"I don't think I'll ever sleep again, mom"

With the funds coming in (and the heroics being amazing), I thought Makayla deserved a new computer.

Makayla feared for what her house would look like after Nicholas became a teenager.

And now she's going to dirty her clean shower. Great.

Dat HD tho

Nicholas is still tense about the fire.

Since we had the money to spend, I thought a nice piano would help with the space. Nicholas decided to try it out.

Makayla is keeping up with the Goths.

One night Nicholas asked Makayla a question.
"Mom, why don't I have a dad?"
"Well, sometimes mom and dads have to live apart."

"Can I meet him one day?"
"...We'll see."
Nicholas seemed happy with her answer but Makayla was worried. She hadn't spoken or seen Glenn in over a decade. What would she say to him? How would he react? She hoped Nicholas didn't get his feelings hurt.
