Trang continued her work
Maya was fairly self-sufficient, which Trang was thankful for
She would usually sit at the computer while her mother painted
I've never seen this painting before and it's beautiful
Maya also liked to use her dollhouse while Trang worked
No matter what Trang did, the paparazzi always seemed to make it in her yard
Maya liked to talk to her friends online, as well as her wayward father
After breaking the computer, she ran away to avoid her mother's wrath
Maya kept up with her chores and was always good about picking up after herself
With her mother always reading cooking books, Maya wanted to cook as well
It turned out ok
"That kid...I swear"
Maya was studious and liked to read
She was excited for school and couldn't wait to learn
Trang slept through all of this
Trang continued to speak with Parker and their relationship continued
Maya woke up to a snow day!
She decided to make an army of snowmen to protect them from paparazzi
After coming inside, Maya wanted to make some blueberry muffins.
It didn't go well
"Gross. Maybe Vanilla ones will be better"

Maya continued her army
She finally finished as night fell
Since it wasn't bedtime yet, Maya took a nap
The snow days continued and so did the chores
Thankfully, Maya could still talk to her friends
She decided she wanted to be an acrobat and was determined to do just that
Sarah Holden invited them to a party
"Sarah! I brought pumpkin pie!"
Maya was concerned about this place. Werewolves were just causing chaos
At least Sarah had a cat
The party was hopping
Even Maya was having a great time
The string of snow days were finally over
Maya could do without the homework though
It's Maya's birthday!
"Happy Birthday, Maya"
"Thanks so much, Mother!"
It was the book Maya wanted. She was really happy.
Trang made her a cake and they had a modest party
Maya wasn't sure what to wish for
However, she felt she needed a makeover asap

"Ahh. Much better!"
Maya decided she wanted a job and got one at the local grocery store
Trang left town for a few days. She was sure Maya would be alright
Maya spent the morning reading
She decided to invite a couple friends over for the night
Her friend, Cora, insisted it was a party
"It's not a party, Cora. You, James and I are just hangout and eat pizza"
Things, however, went wrong fast
"Darn it!"
After cleaning up, Maya ordered the pizza
James arrived first in a suit of all things
"Mmmm. Pizza"
Despite Maya insisting they were just hanging out, it seemed like a party to James
By the end of the night, they were all passed out
Maya returned from school with Cora. They may have still been tired from the night before
She took a nap after work
Trang returned home, appearing much older than when she left
She called Parker and invited him over.
It had been a long time since she'd seen him and wished it wasn't over dire circumstances
Maya came home feeling off. Something wasn't quite right
Her mother had returned and seemed older.
"Maya, I've asked your father to move in with us"
"What? Why? Aren't we fine on our own?"
Trang, however, insisted that they would need each other. Maya didn't know what that meant.
Things were awkward. Maya wasn't sure why her mother thought this was a good idea
But then tragedy struck
"GASP. Mother!"
Trang greeted Grim with respect. She had been ill and knew her time was near.
Maya cried. Her mother and best friend was gone.
